'Merry' is a black 13.1hh mare of good quality and breeding. She had a good in-hand and ridden showing career in the UK, and excels as a driving pony both as a single or a pair. I trained her to harness 8 years ago for a client, and ended up buying her soon afterwards to be part of my small but growing herd and as a family pony. Merry enjoyed going back into the showring in September 2005 at the AFPF Fell Pony Breed Show, she had a good day taking 2nd place in the Broodmare class and being Best Turned Out Champion. ‘Merry’ has proved to be the Studs most successful broodmare producing quality foals with good characters and conformation. She has bred two colt foals Globetrotter Nimrod and Globetrotter Orion, and a filly foal Globetrotter Polikarpov. ‘Merry’ has had a break from being a broodmare in 2004/5 and went back into driven work, which she enjoyed, attending a few local events as a pair with fellow mare ‘Precious’, where they were both much admired. She has been back with the stallion Dene Teviot for a few months and is hopefully in foal for summer 2006.
