‘Precious’ is a good quality 13.2hh brown mare with some white on both her hind legs and a small star. We bought ‘Precious’ from a dealer's yard in London in 1991. When I went to see her, she was fighting for her space in a small barn along with many other horses and ponies. It was nice that she has so much spirit, something every pony should have, and after driving her round Hyde Park corner, we knew that we wanted her. She 
is a very intelligent and brave riding and driving pony. She has won many prizes in driving classes, but mostly in combined driving trails during the 1990’s, quickly going out of novice pony classes into open pony classes. ‘Precious’ is happy as a Single, Pair, and as the Tandem leader. 
She also loved hunting and gymkhanas in our more youthful days. We have bred two foals from ‘Precious’: Globetrotter Mosquito and Globetrotter Nightingale, both proving to follow in their mothers good character, and conformation, also enjoying many equine disciplines. 
We have given ‘Precious’ a rest from breeding for 2004/5, and have been enjoying riding and driving her around the local green lanes called Chemins, which are everywhere in this unspoiled countryside. She has also been helping the young gelding in his ridden training by giving him confidence on the roads and tracks, and also acting as ‘auntie’ to the youngstock sometimes. We will be putting Precious into foal in 2006 to our stallion Murthwaite Tikka.
